Bailey's Arrival!

Well if your wondering why I have not blogged in awhile its because I was busy getting ready for a baby, having a baby and getting use to having a newborn again! Let me tell you I have had a blast so far, Aubrey is doing so good with Bailey and so far everything is going pretty smoothly, so far! I wanted to share with you guys my birth story and my first few days with Bailey! I wish I had done this with Aubrey so i am going to do it with Bailey while the events were still fresh in my mind and both experiences were totally different.
My doctor told me on Monday the 14th that if I didn't go into labor by Friday the 18th that he would induce me. I was excited and had a few reservations too. I was so tired of being pregnant and lugging this extra weight around, sleeping was sucking and I was so very uncomfortable all around and having a scheduled delivery sounded very nice. I did also want to go into labor naturally, I always heard that if you are induced the contractions are worse and you are more likely to have a c-section. As Friday approached I got more and more excited and nervous. On Thursday night I got no sleep, too anxious about the delivery in the morning. We arrived at the hospital around 7:30 ish, I made Matt stop and get breakfast because I knew I wouldn't be eating for awhile. I got all suited in my really fancy hospital gown, and the nurse started the IV and the potssion (medicine that makes have contractions). My labor nurse was really great, very nice and and made things go very easy. The contractions weren't not actually that bad at first, very tolerable for the first few hours. Dr. Carrillo came in around 10 and broke my water and told the nurses he wanted to have a baby by 130 and we all laughed but I think he was serious!!  After my water was broke things started chuggin right along and the pain started to get intense, so I called for some pain meds, they started with the easy stuff and I was able to get a little nap but then it was too much and I needed the epidural, STAT! Matt did comment how I was handling the pain a lot better this time around so at least I had that going for me! The anthisgelosit came in to save the day and boy was he a character. He wanted to be called Bob not Dr Bob but just Bob and was full of personality which at the moment I found really annoying but he had pain meds so I was nice. The epidural was in and things started beeping and the nurse was confused and tried to fix everything she could. She called Bob back into the room, turns out I needed a new epidural, which meant they would have to take out the one I had in and put a new one in, which scared me but I wanted the pain to go away so I was like lets do this. The second was not as bad considering my body was still a little numb from the first one, but once we got the second one pumping I felt so much better and was able to take a nap. The pain of getting the epidural is nothing compared to pain of contractions so for me it was a fair trade, a little pain now saves  for a lot of pain later. The nurse told me I was dialating at a really good pace and it was looking like I was really going to have a baby by 130! In the delivery room I had Matt of course, my mom, matt's mom and step mom. People always ask why do you have all of those people in the room. Well I am all drugged up and I know they want to be there and for me it is not a big deal, I am just laid back that way. We had it the same way last time and everything went smoothly so why change things. Besides family is family and Bailey got to meet everyone as soon as she came into the world. So finally I get to full dialation and they are getting everything ready for the delivery and we are just waiting for Dr. Carrillo. Just so you know no epidural in the world will help with the pressure you feel when it is time to push so just prepare yourself! I am feeling strong pressure, I got my mom on the right and matt on left. Dr. Carrillo arrives gets geared up and we are ready to push. Two contractions and just a few pushes later Bailey is here! I literally pushed for like 5 minutes! I was like really she is here!!! I push for like a hour with Aubrey so I was so relived once it was all over. I got to hold Bailey for the first time it was the most awesome feeling. One minute she was in the belly next she is in my arms looking straight at me I can't describe the feeling but it is totally awesome, very emotional. Every body gets cleaned up , cameras are flashing and tears are flowing, tears of joy of course! When I had Aubrey she had to go to the NICU so I didn't get to hold her right away and really see her a lot, so I have been enjoying every moment of having Bailey with me! Let me tell you we had this baby by 130, Dr. Carrillo was right! After Aubrey I was so tired and zombie like, it was so weird that after I had Bailey I felt so good and ready to go! This labor was so easy and fast I am so glad I decided to induce, I now feel good about my decision. The first day at the hospital went by pretty fast lots of visitors and flowers and well wishes. When Aubrey meet Bailey for the first time, Bailey was already in the nursery but she took one look at Bailey through the glass and was like she is adorable!! Aubrey did really well with everything. She was a little freaked out to see a IV in me and having lots of people in one small room. By the second day she was so excited to see Bailey and hold her and touch her. So far we have no jealously but time will only tell. Just so  you know Aubrey was spoiled rotten through the whole weekend by all the grandparents, so we are just making sure she has special time with us and Bailey and so far that has been working. Once the night came it was just me Matt and Bailey. I breastfeed Aubrey and I planned on breastfeeding Bailey too. The first time we did it she latched on so good! Breastfeeding has gone so good since. Of course I am a little sore but it is well worth it for the health of my baby and the hospital did such a good job helping me with any questions, everything was really natural. Only bad part about the whole experience was a little after the delivery once all the drugs had woren off I was still having contraction pain, the nurses could only give me pain meds in pill form. It took 30 minutes for them to kick in and let me tell that pain was almost the worst pain I have ever had, just constant stabbing in my pelvic area, but after the pain meds kicked in everything was fine and we where smooth sailing from there. My pain was under control and was time to get ready for our first night. I was a little nervous about having Bailey in the room all night, thinking I am not going to get any sleep. It turns out the nursery is awesome and will take the baby after your done feeding and let you sleep which was awesome! I decided to stay 2 nights. Matt didn't want to but I wanted to take advantage of the nursery, the jacuzzi tub and room service! I mean we paid for 2 nights, might as well! Sunday comes along, the doctor clears Bailey, she is perfect by the way, and Dr. Carrillo clears me and we are all packed up and ready to go. I got Bailey all dolled up in the car seat and we where ready to go. She did so good on the way home, just sleep the whole way!
The whole experience at the hospital went so smoothly and everything was so great I can hardly believe it. Bailey is so happy and healthy and so am I. We are one happy Baker Family!

I go walkin...

Not much went on this weekend just hanging out at the house. I did try and do a lot of walking to try and get this baby to come out but she just isn't ready! I am already getting the feeling that I am going to have 2 totally different kids on my hands! I went to the doctor on monday and he said if we don't have a baby by friday morning we can induce on friday. I am excited for that. I did just want to go into labor naturally but I am so ready to get the ball rolling on this! Baby Bailey needs to come into this world, everybody is ready to meet her! I tried some wishfull thinking on monday morning, I got my house all clean, took a shower and packed my bag hoping when I went to doctor he would be like let's just go now but that didn't happen. I guess a few more days won't kill me, I hope! If you guys are wondering if I have tried the other wives tales to help induce labor, I HAVE! All of them except for maybe the castor oil, my doctor advised me against it which is ok because I don't think I could anyways!
Aubrey and I got to help my friend Jessica make cookies (from scratch) and Aubrey was such a good helper. She just loved rolling out the dough and using the cookie cutter! We made quite the mess but they turned out pretty good. I should have taken pictures but I forgot! Next time for sure! Aubrey is becoming such a good helper and I think she is going to be such a great big sister, I can't wait to see her in action!
I did get the chance to watch the grammys which weren't to bad this year. All the performances were really good my favorite of the night was the Aretha Franklin tribute. 2 of my favorite voices were part of the phenomenal group that sang, Christina Aguilera and Jenifer Hudson. Jenifer looks great by the way. All the women did a great job. If you didn't catch it you should definitely you tube it, really good. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Miranda Lambert did a good job too! Mick Jagger did a song, he is just so strange to me. Not a big fan of his voice or spastic dance moves but you have to give him credit for being such a mover and a shaker at his age. The big surprise for me was that album of the year went to Arcade Fire, never listened to their music before but very nice and refreshing to see a indie alternative group getting some recognition at the grammys. Well that's all for now, love you guys and God Bless!

Grab Some Popcorn!

It's tv and movie review time!!! Are you ready? I didn't get to watch all my shows this week but I did catch a few good ones. Matt and I actually went to the movies last weekend and some really good trailers came out this week. Since this is my first review blog, especially with my TV shows, hopefully with time it will be more concise and you will understand what is going on. For this first time I will do the best I can, feel free to ask questions if you get confused or want more info! So lets get started.
Mondays are like my girls night. I go over to my friend Jessica's house and we cook, ok she cooks and then  we watch our favorite guilty pleasure Bad Girls Club! Let me just say these girls are wild, crazy and completely insane and I totally love it! The drunker they get and crazier they are the better! Its hard to think that girls like this actually exist and really act this way but apparently there are! I haven't figured out which girl is my favorite this season, they are all kinda annoying. I thought I liked Sydney but I think I just like her fire red hair more. Char is a walking contradiction, she tries to pull the "I am older and more mature" card but she is the first one to toss someones clothes in the pool and and get in someones face, yeah real mature girl!! If I had to pick someone I would say I like Jessica. So far she seems the most real and comfortable in her own skin and not a follower. Kori, OMG is the most insecure and biggest follower, Char says "jump" and she is like"How high?". Lauren and Nikki are just plain annoying but make for good drama, so I guess you can't be too mad at them. On this weeks episode Nikki was makin out with this guy and it literally made me sick! I don't know how she gets guys, she seems so manly! I guess there are a few dudes out there that dig it. The girls went to San Fran this week, it seemed like everyone was getting along, a new alliance formed (Nikki and Lauren), which Char hates of course and at the end Sydney decided she couldn't handle the BGC house and punched out early, I think it was a little weak but hay I am not there having to deal with everyday.  I guess the girls will get another newbie and see if she can stir anymore drama!
I also watch this show called Pretty Little Liars. Not only is the show really good and suspenseful but the fashion these girls wear is pretty cool. Yes, I am admiring the fashion of a show that is set in high school. These girls dress really good! It seems to be more wearable then the fashion of gossip girl, at least for me. The character Spencer had a really cute shirt on this week and I really want it. Here is what it looked liked:
  Je Suis une Amie

I love the whole look really! So the show is really good too. It is about 4 friends that have a bunch of secrets that they thought only one person knew, that person being there friend Allison. Who was suspiciously murdered last summer and now some one is threatening to spill all their secrets and calling themselves -A.  While all this is going on they are trying to survive high school! My favorite story line so far is the one for Emily she is the athlete of the group and comes from very strict military parents. She just recently came out to her parents. I didn't like her much at the beginning but she is becoming stronger and more sassy as time goes by. The show is in midseason so I don't want to take a lot of time describing what has been going on, but every person they think is A is not and no one seems to be who these girls think they are! All the girls have a pretty good story line, Aria is the eccentric one who is in love with her English teacher (who by the way loves her too!), Hanna is the rich popular girl who is no longer rich and super sassy and Spencer is the smart one who thinks her sister just married the guy who she thinks killed Allison. Makes for pretty good drama.
Last Friday Matt and I got to go see the Green Hornet in 3D. The 3D effects were OK, but overall I really liked the movie and so did Matt. It stared Seth Rogen and Cameron Diaz. If you want a synopsis and trailers click HERE. They movie is based on one of the oldest radio turned old school TV shows now turned movie. I guess you could put it in the big blockbuster comic book section but it is not based on a comic book. The action was really good, the guy that played Kato (the sidekick) was really awesome. The guy that played Kato on the TV show was Bruce Lee if that helps with the mental picture, basically a martial arts badass! Seth Rogen was the Green Hornet. The humor was good and typical Seth Rogen humor. I thought the story line was good and overall though it was not a waste of a 10 dollar movie ticket! I would give it 3 stars out of 5. If you don't like action or comic book movies you won't like it so don't bother otherwise go see it!
Portman and Aston Kutcher in it and is basically about 2 friends trying to be friends with benefits, but as we all know that doesn't always work out. Just Go With It has Adam Sandler and Jenefer Aniston and seems pretty funny. Adam Sandler plays this guy who pretends to be married to get girls, finally finds a good one and then has to pretend to be married but going through a divorce to keep the girl. They both look funny and have a feel good feeling about them. We will see if I make it to either!
Lastly here are the trailers of 2 movies that are coming out this summer, one action and one chick flick, hope you enjoy!

Until next time, Love you guys and God Bless!

Snow, Cleaning, Valentines and more Cleaning!

Well I survived my first couple of days of being at home. We had a huge snow storm on Tuesday night and everyone was snowed in.  Aubrey got to stay home with me on Wednesday. Matt and Aubrey tried playing in the snow yesterday but it didn't turn out so good. They didn't last very long, and the snow wasn't sticking together good enough to make a snowman. Plus it was super cold! I should have taken pictures, but of course I thought about it too late! I am tired of the snow, so that groundhog better be right, I am so ready for spring! I am also ready to have this baby!!! These last couple of weeks sure do suck, the baby is so low it is getting harder and harder to do things, like my recent obsession with cleaning! Anyone that knows me knows how I HATE to clean and I would rather be lazy then lift a finger, but recently I have been wanting everything clean all the time It is kind of freakin me out! The upside is my house is always clean and how can that be a bad thing, right? We will see how long it last, hopefully forever! Daytime television is not that bad, but as I watch through out the day the same stories are being commented on over and over again.  My favorites right now are Regis and Kelly and Ellen. These shows are the most upbeat and fun, just like me! lol! I like funny people and positive things and Regis and Kelly and Ellen are both of those and always have good guests on. So my first week home has been filled with mostly cleaning the house, getting all the baby stuff ready and cleaning the house! I scrubbed doors yesterday people, what is wrong with me!!! I did get all of Bailey's clothes hung up and ready to go. The bedding is on the crib, just waiting for the crib sheets that have been on back order for a couple of weeks. They said this morning they have been shipped so hopefully they arrive quickly! Today I cleaned Aubrey's room. I threw away some toys that have seen better days and donating some that we just don't need. Aubrey has so many toys it is ridiculous! She has like 12 baby baby dolls!!! What kid needs 12 baby baby dolls? Not mine, so off to goodwill they go! Is it just me or does anyone else feel bad for throwing out toys or donating them after watching Toy Story 3? I know it is just a movie, but the thought is always in the back of my mind, I am such a sap! Aside from cleaning, I did get a little crafty the other day. Valentine's Day is approaching and I decided to make some valentines for Aubrey's school and a special gift for all the grandparents. I got the idea from the Family Fun website, here is the link family fun-valentine blossoms. The website also has alot of other great ideas! I used scrap booking paper for the petals, leaves and center piece. Mine look a little busy but they still turned out pretty good if I don't say so myself! If I do them again I will probably use construction paper and scrap booking paper so they don't look so busy. Here are the pictures of the finished product:

I also made a valentine ornaments for all the grandparents. I bought the foam kit from Hobby Lobby and put a picture of Aubrey inside and decorated them with jewel heart stickers. They turned out really good and was cheaper than buying cards for everyone. I think stuff like this is better than cards anyways, a little more personal! Here are some pictures of the finished product:
Well it been a pretty good snowed in week so far. Tomorrow I hope to blog about my TV and Movie reviews, so stay tuned for that. Love you guys and God Bless!

Weekend Wrap Up: Superbowl Edition

Well the big event for the weekend was definitely the superbowl! I didn't go into labor so Matt was able to watch the whole game without a problem except for the devastating loss, but more on that later. We had a few people at the house to watch the game, actually our house was pretty packed! Our house isn't too big so when you get like 10 or people in there and throw in some crazy kids then you have a very full Baker house! Over all I think we all had a good time. We had lots of delicious food and plenty to drink, for those who could drink, ie not me, cause I am still prego! Matt and I got a 6ft sub from walmart for the party it was really good and super cheap, like 25 bucks, so if you ever need a sub sandwich for anything walmart is the place to go! Before I talk football lets start with the commercials. I thought the commercials where kind of lacking this year, the only one that stood out was the VW darth vadar one, it was super cute and made me laugh! Some of the Doritos and Bud Light ones where good but as whole I was a tad disappointed. Here is my top commercial for the SuperBowl!

The half time show was good, but the sound was horrible. Fergie just doesn't sing good live for me, in studio on a track I love her voice and I do think she can sing but live I just wasn't diggin on it. I think the performance was better than it has been in the past, more to date and relevent but maybe next year the people who are in charge can make sure the sound quality is better. I do give them props for singing live on such a big stage and large audience.
Guess now on to the game. I am very disappointed in the game. the steelers played like crap. I mean 4 interceptions Ben!!!! Really??? It seemed like they didn't want it enough or something, I mean they could have scored right at the end, but they threw it away. Troy didn't have one interception, not one!!! I have to give it to the packers, they played the better game. In my opinion the steelers didn't even show up!! Well I guess we will have to wait until next year to see if things turn out better for the steelers. Ben just better lay low all off season, don't be a douchebag dude!!! Hopefully all this lockout business will be taken care of also. If any one wants to talk crap, take it somewhere where else, especially if you are a cowboy fan. I don't want to hear it! Speaking of cowboy fans, I am sad to report that the Baker house was full of more cowboy fans than steeler fans yesterday, but thats all right, we love the steelers whether they win or lose and to me that is a true fan, I just wished they won yesterday!
On baby news I am 38 weeks today and I went to the doctor and I am dialated to a 1. If I don't go into labor before the 19th he said he would induce me. So in 2 weeks baby Bailey will definitely be here and I can't wait. So tired of being prego!!!
This is my first week of not working, I plan on getting a lot of stuff done before Bailey gets here so hopefully I will have updates on that this week. That's the wrap up. Love you guys and God Bless!

Work and Football, coming to a close!

So it has been awhile since I have been able to blog and I have a lot to talk about!!
First topic, work. This was my last week of work, actually today is my last day! I am really excited about not having to go to work everyday and get to see my girls grow up. I am also a little scared about the losing my income and the interaction with my coworkers! It will certainly be a adjustment being home everyday and not having a paycheck but I think Matt and I are in a good spot where we can find a happy medium and I won't feel bound to the house and can get out every now and then to release some stress! I have good friends and family that I can lean on! I will miss a lot of people at McCarty-Hull, I really did enjoy working there. I hope I am able to stay sane! I think I will also miss the day to day interaction with adults! I guess I will have to just make adjustments as I go. I haven't gotten emotional yet but I am sure as I clock out for the last time and say my goodbyes a few tears will be shed, I am such a sap, but I don't care! I have a lot of good memories from working here and had a lot of good times and laughs!! I hope to stay in touch with a few of my favorite people.
The big plan for the weekend is the Superbowl and I am pretty excited about it. Matt and I have been watching all the coverage from Dallas. It is really cool that the superbowl is in Dallas and the Steelers will be playing. I am a little sad that Matt and I can't go to Dallas and stalk all the players and tail gate at the stadium, but we will make do! I am on strict instructions from Matt that I better not go into labor on sunday or all hell is going to break loss! You guys probably think he is kidding or just being funny, but I think he is serious. Steeler football is very serious in our house, so I will have to take it easy these next couple days so we don't have to have any problems, lol! Well I am going to take a moment to get on my soap box, for all you Roethlisberger haters out GET OVER IT! There have been countless athletes that have made mistakes even worse ones and still come back. It seems the media and all non steeler fans have something to say. I think he handled it fine. He has said that he made stupid mistakes and is going to do everything in his power to make things right for his team, the city of Pittsburg and his family. What more do you want from him! Time will only tell if he has really changed and for the better. All I care about is that he plays good football and helps the steelers win another superbowl. Just so everyone knows, it takes more than one person to win a game!!!! I am just tiredd of commentators and sports writers writing and talking about it over over over and over again!!! This is football people not The Hills!!! Ok, that is all , I will get off my soap box.
I was going to try and write about the tv I watched and movies once a week, but since I have been busy at work and really hadn't had much time to watch tv or write about it. Hopefully next week I can get something up for you guys! Well that is all for now, Love you guys and God Bless!

Baby Room Pics!

I was finally able to upload pictures of baby Bailey's Room! I think it turned out pretty good! She will be my little Lovebug!!
